Gareth Gummerson

Gareth’s connections with YSES began in 1995 when he was selected as an expeditioner to join a team canoeing the Yukon River in Canada. Since that trip he has assisted YSES as a junior leader canoeing the Shannon River in Ireland.

Gareth has paddled The Yukon river three times, and the Shannon river on four occasions, either on expeditions or training potential leaders whom may be interested in assisting to lead future expeditions.

Gareth also acts as expedition medic with additional training for unforeseen circumstances whereby medical attention may be sought or required and is not readily available in the wilderness in which we travel.

Gareth is 28, and currently employed as a police officer. He is leading a canoeing trip to the Shannon river in Ireland in 2009.
