NORWAY
The exact details of the adventure will depend on the young explorers themselves, who, aged between 15-19 (in July 2012) will, together with the leaders, choose, agree and plan the whole itinerary and component parts of this experience of a lifetime before we leave the UK. It will be for 2-3 weeks in the summer of 2012.
Norway Glacier
The area chosen, the Jotunheimen Mountains, lies between Oslo and Trondheim will provide ample opportunity for young explorers to experience real and memorable adventure and excitement. For example: by hiking, camping, mountain climbing, a water activity, maybe a scientific / cultural project and an adventurous challenge (an arduous trek, glacier walking, rafting down a wilderness river, or something else). There will also be the possibility to complete DoE components, to luxuriate in a 24 hour period alone in the wilderness (!), to experience different forms of travel, to meet the locals, to self-cater and become more self-reliant.
Camping in The Jotunheimen National Park
This experience is for those who want a challenge and to do something different during the long summer vacation. Previous young explorers have become close friends with their expedition colleagues, found out something new about themselves, and learnt much from the total experience. Are you willing to give it a try? There is evidence to suggest it will useful in a personal statement ready for a future job or University application? Essentially it is intended to be FUN and memorable.

The cost of the expedition will be in the order of £1000 plus airfares and other travel cost.

Completed application forms should be submitted by the 31st January 2012 at the latest.
