YSES offers expeditions across most continents as well as within the UK. They generally take place during the summer holiday in late July and August. They are usually of two to three weeks in duration. The expeditions include fieldwork or community based projects which help you to meet local people and enhance your experience in-country. Training weekends are held to ensure that you have all the knowledge and skills that you will need to have a safe and enjoyable experience. YSES offers the John Muir Award which is based upon discovering, exploring, conserving and sharing a wild place. For those participating in the Duke of Edinburgh Award your expedition will count towards your Residential Section.
