For over 40 years Yorkshire Schools Exploring Society has been able to organise expeditions in many parts of the world. Different people have different experiences of countries and expeditions and so our record shows expeditions of varying lengths in time, a wide spread of locations and a mixture of activities and projects. Our website should give you a real flavour of this. We are always interested to hear from people who may have something to offer in terms of expedition leadership and the possibilities of expanding the sphere of what we have to offer. Please do not hesitate to contact us just to find out more about the Society and send us your CV. If you express a definite interest and would like to know more, the Society will be pleased to arrange an interview.

Andy Lawrence, assistant leader for the China 88 Trekking Group, is trying to arrange a reunion, he writes:

In 1988 Don Robinson wrote that China ’88 was the Society’s “… most ambitious [expedition] … ever undertaken and probably been one of the most successful”. China ’88 took 62 people to the high Tibetan Plateau to climb, bike, kayak, trek and explore the region. Now 21 years on, we’d like to bring as many people who went on the expedition together for a full on reunion, probably at Selside, later in the year. If you went on the expedition or know someone who did, we’d like to hear from you.

Andy has set up a Facebook group for members to get in touch with each other, so sign up or spread the word on Facebook:
